Swimming pool disinfection equipment is rapidly developing towards intelligence, green technology, and system integration. New physical disinfection technologies are gradually replacing traditional chemical disinfection, becoming the industry mainstream.
New Disinfection Technologies Becoming Mainstream: Ultraviolet Light, Ozone, AOP Advanced Oxidation
Traditional chlorine disinfection, due to problems such as chemical residues and irritating odors, is being replaced by highly efficient and environmentally friendly physical disinfection methods:
Ultraviolet Disinfection: Utilizing a medium-pressure ultraviolet sterilizer, it achieves a 99.9% sterilization rate by destroying microbial DNA, leaving no chemical residues. It is especially suitable for high-frequency use areas such as hot springs and public swimming pools.
Ozone Disinfection: Its strong oxidizing properties can quickly kill pathogens, eliminate odors, and reduce chlorine usage by more than 70%. It has been listed as an essential additional disinfection method for spa pools by the German DIN 19643 standard.
AOP Advanced Oxidation System: Listed as a national ministerial science and technology promotion project in 2025, it generates hydroxyl radicals (·OH) through "superoxide + photon synergy", which can completely decompose chlorine-resistant microorganisms and organic pollutants. The final products are harmless substances such as water and oxygen, truly achieving no by-products and no residues.
